Edgardo Miranda-Rodgriguez

Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez is the creator of La Borinquena, an Afro-Latina Puerto Rican graduate student at Columbia who is gifted the powers of superhuman strength, flight, and control of storms by the Taino gods Atabex, Yúcahu, and Juracan. Wreathed in a costume based on la bandera, La Borinquena has saved Puerto Rico in not only her own series, but in Ricanstruction: Reminiscing & Rebuilding Puerto Rico, a collaboration with DC that raised funds for Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria.
